This client is a good friend of mine and we had been talking about updates here and there for years. And eventually, she needed new appliances and decided to pull the trigger on a new countertop and backsplash. She chose such a fun, beach-y combo that really brightened up the space. The backsplash is just plain beautiful.
Of course, most house projects come with a compromise – and this client’s husband had sent me a few ideas to brighten up the living room and, in the end, we decided on shiplap. We added some to the window seat wall as well as a new cushion. While discussing the shiplap, a comment was made that their dining room could look a lot bigger with a Westek sliding door – so we took out the dining room window and door and installed one. Not only did they gain a better overall view of the lake, but their great room also looks 3x the size!
I unfortunately don’t have any before pictures of this project, so you’ll just have to trust me when I tell you it looks SO much better.
